Wheels & Waves : the Momotaro journey!

So a while back we introduced to you the Dutch ‘Urbanised Farmers’. Two guys building and modifying vintage motorcycles in their spare time. We crossed paths and decided to follow them in their journey. Last month they went on a trip to Biarritz to visit the Wheels and Waves, a great festival where the custom bike scene meets surfing, art and music. It’s basically a festival for anyone who loves the custom bike scene and the related subculture(s). Dressed with our matching Momotaro ‘GOING TO BATTLE label jeans’ they browsed through the venue as kids in a candy shop “all the bikes that you could ever dream of are here to see, touch and admire, its truly awesome!” according to Luuk and Pim.

7005sp Update…

These Momotaro 7005sp jeans are amazing! Slowly but surely, they are fading.  After the initial few weeks of wear, the waistband has stretched out perfectly ~1 inch and I can now button these jeans with ease!  For a moment, it was touch and go, but now this pair is turning into my absolute favourite pair of jeans.  I’ve now worn the jeans for about 1 month using the 30 amnesty wears allowed by DWC.   Still no washes or soaks but a few spot cleans especially when my friend’s newborn decided to puke on them.. Luckily they didn’t smell!!

Momotaro at Wheels & Waves festival, Biarritz, France.

Aw while ago, Luuk and Pim, two bike builders from Amsterdam (NL) got in touch with us to partner up with them as they saw a perfect match regarding what they do and what we do. They call themselves Urbanised Farmers.

The reason they contacted Momotaro Jeans is that they were planning a trip to Biarritz (France) to attend the Wheels and Waves festival in June. 4 friends, 4 bikes, 1 vintage Volkswagen van and a photographer to report our week!

They were looking for brands (and opted for Momotaro as well as Japan Blue Jeans) that like to get some exposure in the custom bike scene by sponsoring our trip.

We thought, why not : we are keen are keen to take this journey with them!

So, after some measurements as well as requirement have been exchanged, we decided to sponsor them our Momotaro ‘Going To Battle’ label jeans and some Japan Blue Jeans.

An awesome photo report by French photographer David Marvier will be made.

Stickers have been printed and will be applied to the VW van.
